One of the most relaxing and beautiful vacations I’ve ever taken was on the island country of St Lucia, in the Eastern part of the Caribbean. Just a 4 hour flight from Miami brings you to the most picturesque, serene island, with its recognizable tapered mountains in the shape of pyramids. There was no question as to where I wanted to stay… Originally called Jalousie Plantation, Sugar Beach – A Viceroy Resort, is the only resort situated between the two famous Piton Mountains, which are Unesco Heritage sites. This hotel is also in the middle of a lush rainforest, which makes you feel like you’re in another world. Whether you choose to stay in a luxury guestroom or my favorite – a luxury villa – with its own plunge pool and personal butler service, I guarantee you a relaxing and most enjoyable experience.
So much to do here at Sugar Beach… Snorkel in the crystal clear water, enjoy the gorgeous pool or the rainforest spa, indulge on the delicious cuisine by Chef Jacque Chretien, or sip on a rum cocktail in the infamous Cane Bar. You won’t feel the need to leave this sanctuary at all.
IF you decide you want to explore the island, I highly recommend hiking the Pitons, going into the town of Soufriere, visiting the drive-in volcano, or exploring the botanical gardens and waterfalls. The locals are some of the most friendly and kind people I’ve ever met. So welcoming.
St. Lucia is the perfect vacation destination for anyone who needs major decompression or a break from city life. I’ll definitely be returning to this stunning island one day!
